Erica is a second year graduate student in the MDTP program and joined the Welch lab in December of 2005. She is currently working on deciphering the role of chemotaxis by Uropathogenic E. coli (UPEC) in urinary tract infections, specifically looking at the role of tsr. Erica graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Microbiology and Biochemistry. While at the University of Idaho, she worked for two and half years on the internalization of S. aureus by host epithelial cells in the lab of Dr. Ken Bayles.
Erica grew up in Tulsa, OK, but, after an unexpected move during high school, graduated from Skyline High School in Idaho Falls, ID. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, playing volleyball (poorly), reading, and watching trash reality TV shows.
